Paradis contemplates some of the great mysteries of existence, the nature of time, the relationship of past, present, and future, the extent of the universe, its vastness and that which is in our immediate vicinity but beyond our perception. He has developed a visual language while contemplating the night skies of Northern Canada in extensive camping trips throughout his life. The mingling of memories of the past with current experience and anticipation of the future, the juxtaposition of intimacy and vastness has led to a layered approach in both the meaning and implementation of his work.

Paradis’ work has been exhibited internationally and throughout the US. Closer to home he has shown in numerous galleries throughout Long Island and the metropolitan area including White Columns in NYC, the Omni Gallery, Uniondale and the Staller Center for the Performing Arts in Stony Brook. His solo exhibitions include “Small Works” at the Islip Art Museum in 2006

Born in Ontario, Canada Jason now lives in Glenwood Landing, NY. He received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree from Queen’s University, Ontario. He earned a Master’s of Fine Arts Degree in 1998 from Stony Brook where he is currently on the faculty teaching drawing and painting.
