Clayton Orehek has worked commercially in neon lighting for nearly 20 years. During that time he has also applied his craft to more personal creative works. His artwork ranges from wall hangings to large-scale multi-media installations which function as social/cultural commentary. A collector of found objects, Orehek has formed a pallet of detritus which he draws from to create assemblages of glass, metal, ceramic, etc. These materials are cultural markers, indicators of what the culture that made them deemed valuable. The juxtaposition of material and symbolism expresses the artist's interest in aesthetic and conceptual isssues. This exhibition includes five mixed media wall pieces by Clayton Orehek.
